 May—Time to celebrate Syttende Mai.   How do you and your lodge celebrate this moment in Norwegian History? I’ve spent most of my 20 years celebrating it in Brooklyn, New York …What a treat members from the District join together to show off their “Norwegian Pride”. The array of floats, banners and bunads is a sight. The field of colors changes the streets of Brooklyn into river of Norwegian beauty. Those too far from Brooklyn celebrate in their own fashion….hope to see the pictures and stories on the 3D web site.

It was encouraging to see lodges had membership events for “March Membership Madness”.  Those that did, added on new members, both regular and heritage!! Good job! And my thanks to your Financial Advisors for a fine job informing all those present on what Sons of Norway has to offer its members. (Remember: the financial services support our fraternal programs and resources.)

I’d like to take this opportunity to address the Vice Presidents of the lodges—between the 15-20th of each month I will forward membership information via your email. Please look for them.  If you haven’t received them, check your SPAM. If they aren’t there, please notify me and see how we can correct this problem. For Vice Presidents with no emails, I will send quarterly reports. Thank you for your help in keeping the flow of membership information going.
