Fall - what a great time of year! Everyone's lives get busy with school, work and Sons of Norway. Please don't forget to have the lodge discuss the fund raiser for the Boomer Esiason Foundation. What a great opportunity for your lodge to encourage members not to hide all they do for others. Sons of Norway was founded on the need for you to help one another, and nothing has brought this more to light than the recent bombing and senseless act of violence Norway experiences in July.
Lodges have shown their support for their Norwegian Sons of Norway members and for the Norwegian nation by having vigils and memorial services with their lodges and zones.
Let us show you how Sons of Norway members care for that right in our own neighborhood and for those within our order.
For those of you who don't know about Boomer Esaison, he is a television and radio broadcaster, and former NFL player. Boomer is a member of Henrik Ibsen Lodge and a past Grand marshal of the 17th of May parade. Boomer's son has cystic fibrosis. As a result, Boomer established the Boomer Esiason Foundation (www.esiason.org) to heighten awareness, provide education, and improve the quality of life for those affected by cystic fibrosis, while providing financial support to conduct research aimed at finding a cure.
Please join this District wide campaign to support The Esiason Foundation. Thanking you in advance for your lodges' participation in this worthy cause.
